Services We Provide
Uncorked Tours is like nothing else in the area.
We provide a guided tour of the Shawnee Hills Wine Trail. The tour
guide will provide the history of the Shawnee Hills Wine Trail as
well as the history of Southern Illinois wine itself on our way to the
first vineyard.
Circumstances allowing, the owner/manager of each vineyard will
great our guests personally.
When we arrive at Alto, the bus will be greeted by Leon who will
take our guest on a full tour through their vineyard and winery.
At Owl Creek, the owner, Brad will give our guests a walk through
of his vineyard as well as serve some of his fine wine for tastings
At StarView the owners will greet the bus and tell us a little about
what it takes to own and operate a winery. They are the newest
member of the wine trail and always happy to see new faces.
The Hedman's are some of the nicest people you will ever meet.
Not to mention great cooks! They will be more than happy to
personally serve you some of their delicious Scandinavian dishes
and their famous peach wine.
If the doctor is in at Von Jakob he will serve up a little knowledge
on proper wine tasting. "Doc" is also quite the cook, and he even
has a little wine (over 20 different kinds! Enough to suit every
palette).
Like the vineyards, we at Uncorked Tours are all about introducing
wine drinkers from all walks of life to the unique wines of the
Shawnee Hills Wine Trail. We call it an "edventure" (Educational
Adventure) So whether you just want to enjoy the day without
worrying about the winding roads or learn the fascinating history of
Southern Illinois Wine from the people who make it, Uncorked
